Team of LIFE Lands of Priolo measures intervention areas

In the last years of the Life+ Lands of Priolo, the field actions have focused mostly in the C6 and C7 actions corresponding to the Gradient area and water line of the Serra da Tronqueira where the invasive dominant species are Yellow Ginger Lilly and the Cheesewood that occupy part of the intervention area .

With the control of the invasive species in these areas, around 160 000 plant species were planted, with the last plantations ending on the end of May. Nevertheless, with the conclusion of the project closer, the results of this intense work of our field team over the last few years were not analysed and measuring the intervention and planted areas was still to be done. This was not an easy task, since some areas were hard to walk on for the retrieving of data.
The work in these areas is so complicated (difficult to reach areas and with high slope levels) that the field team had training in Height Work and Rescue to be able to work securely in the control of invasive species of these areas.

The result of this hard work will be presented in the Final report of the project Life+ Lands of Priolo, where the dimension of Laurel Forest will be divulged.

We thank immensely the filed team for the difficult work accomplished during this project!
